Job Description

This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality MRI imaging services in a dynamic clinical environment. Care delivery encompasses emergency, inpatient, observation, and outpatient settings. The imaging department supports a diverse patient population, including pediatric and cardiac cases, with some requiring anesthesia. The facility is a teaching hospital with advanced technology and specialty designations such as Stroke Center of Excellence and Bariatric Center of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and review imaging requests, consult with radiologists or providers as needed to ensure appropriate exams.
  • Prepare patients by explaining procedures, obtaining medical histories, and confirming identifiers.
  • Manage MRI exams from start through completion of reports, ensuring technical quality and compliance with protocols.
  • Administer IV contrast following departmental guidelines.
  • Provide basic patient care, report condition changes, and initiate emergency measures if necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control and safety policies during all invasive procedures.
  • Collaborate with support services including transport, child life, and tech assistants to optimize patient experience.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • ARRT(R), NMTCB, ARRT(MR), or ARMRIT certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year MRI tech experience preferred; first-time travelers are welcome.
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR, Epic Radiant RIS, and Philips iSite PACS is advantageous.
  • Ability to work varied shifts with weekend and holiday rotations; no on-call required.
