Job Description

A position is available for an experienced MRI Technologist to provide comprehensive imaging services on a contract basis in Concord, NC. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary radiology department equipped with advanced imaging technology, serving a diverse patient population including emergency, inpatient, observation, and outpatient settings. The position requires a strong dedication to patient care, technical excellence, and collaboration with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Certification: ARRT(R) or NMTCB, ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of MRI technologist experience preferred; first-time travelers are welcome
  • Ability to accurately identify patients using two identifiers and perform thorough clinical histories
  • Skilled in administering IV contrast in accordance with protocols
  • Proficient in evaluating image quality and collaborating with radiologists
  • Knowledge of infection control and patient care standards

Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify imaging orders, clarifying discrepancies with radiologists or providers
  • Prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort throughout imaging exams
  • Conduct MRI exams using equipment including GE 1.5 SIGNA Artist 450W and Siemens 3T Skyra systems
  • Handle patient care tasks and communicate any clinical changes to nursing staff
  • Follow safety protocols, bloodborne pathogen controls, and support invasive procedures as required
  • Provide pediatric and cardiac imaging, including assistance with anesthesia cases
  • Document and complete imaging results according to departmental standards

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Weekend rotation as needed; no on-call responsibilities
  • Work schedule varies, with shift cycles every four weeks
  • Approximately 75% holiday coverage expected
  • Black scrubs required; free parking available
