Job Description
An experienced Diagnostic Mammography / Radiology Technologist position is available in the Greenfield, CA area on a contract basis. This role focuses on performing high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care for all age groups. The technologist will work closely with radiologists and imaging teams to deliver accurate imaging, maintain efficient workflows, and provide an excellent patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams according to established protocols.
- Ensure proper patient positioning, image quality, and compliance with ALARA radiation safety principles.
- Review physician orders and coordinate with radiologists and other imaging modalities.
- Retrieve and compare prior mammography images to facilitate accurate interpretation.
- Educate patients about breast health and self-examination techniques.
- Serve as a technical resource for breast imaging, quality control, and equipment operation.
- Advocate for patients by coordinating care to minimize inconvenience and delays.
- Participate in departmental committees and assist with outreach and promotion of mammography services.
- Support additional imaging services such as Bone Density exams, CT scans, General X-Ray, and Fluoroscopy/OR procedures as needed.
- Take call assignments and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- ARRT registration in Radiography and Mammography.
- Active California Radiologic Technologist, Mammographic Technologist, and Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist Licenses.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification.
- California Venipuncture Certificate (to be obtained within 3 months of hire).
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a mammography technologist.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for 4-6 hours daily.
- Capability to bend, reach, crouch, balance, push equipment, and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and chemical agents.
- Patient care across the lifespan.
