Job Description

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist in a cutting-edge academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma designation. This travel role is based in Kernersville, NC, with a premier facility known for comprehensive stroke care and advanced interventional procedures.

Location Overview: Situated near Winston-Salem, NC, this medical center boasts 885 licensed beds and functions as a teaching hospital with distinguished designations including a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The environment supports a diverse and complex patient population, perfect for IR Technologists eager to enhance their expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scrub and assist during interventional radiology procedures including complex embolizations, thrombectomies, sclerotherapy, and biopsies.
  • Circulate by operating imaging and procedural equipment, managing supplies, and supporting patient care throughout cases.
  • Collaborate closely with RNs and a team of neuro and body interventional physicians and advance practice providers.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental protocols using advanced Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotation with call approximately 3-4 days per month and weekend coverage every 5th-6th weekend.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience specifically in IR Body and IR Neuro at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
  • Current BLS certification and ARRT-R or RCIS credential required.
  • Comfortable working within a teaching environment that includes precepting new graduates.
  • Ability to handle a variable shift schedule including 12-hour and 10-hour shifts, with some weekend and holiday coverage.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Options include three 12-hour shifts, four 10-hour shifts, or five 8-hour shifts.
  • Shifts typically range from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Call and weekend responsibilities required, with holiday work expected ~75% if scheduled.
