Job Description

A specialized opportunity is available for a Cath Lab Technologist with experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This contract role offers a dynamic work schedule of four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities approximately 1-2 nights weekly and occasional weekend and holiday coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of cardiac catheterization procedures, including Right and Left Heart Cath Diagnostic, PCI, Complex PCI, CTO, ASA, PFO/ASD, MitralClip, Watchman, PTMV, TAVR, Peripheral, and Vascular interventions.
  • Operate and maintain equipment in one of the five catheterization lab rooms plus a hybrid operating room.
  • Collaborate closely with the cardiology team to ensure patient safety and optimal procedural outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC charting system.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols; a radiation badge provided by the staffing agency is required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years experience as a Cath Lab Technologist; first-time technologists considered.
  • Current certifications required include SCRQSA, ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association only).
  • Preferred certification: CCI with RCIS/RCES. ARRT (R) with SCRQSA (R) is also acceptable.
  • Ability to work within a 60-mile radius of Charleston, SC.
  • Capable of fulfilling on-call duties as outlined.
  • Must have a radiation badge supplied by the agency.

Additional Information:

  • Contract position with guaranteed hours, allowing minimal call-off shifts per policy.
  • Parking available with a one-time nominal fee for nights and weekends.
  • The facility is a Level I Trauma Center, a teaching hospital, and a Magnet-designated institution.
  • Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November), with peak activity from August to September.
