Job Title: Behavior Intervention Aide (1:1) - Brookings, OR

Location: Brookings, OR

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to students with mild to moderate disabilities, focusing on behavior intervention and positive reinforcement strategies
Collaborate with special education teachers to implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
Assist in the development and modification of curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of students
Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and responses to interventions
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
Implement effective classroom management techniques
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other team members to provide updates on student progress
Support students with daily activities, social interactions, and life skills development

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in special education or related field preferred
Previous experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in behavior intervention
Knowledge of positive behavior support strategies and experience implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
Compassionate, patient, and a strong advocate for students' needs
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality
Understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with mild to moderate disabilities
