Job Title: Behavior Intervention Aide (1:1) -  Brookings, OR

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with mild to moderate disabilities, focusing on behavior intervention and positive reinforcement strategies
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
  • Assist in the development and modification of curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of students
  • Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and responses to interventions
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other team members to provide updates on student progress
  • Support students with daily activities, social interactions, and life skills development

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in special education or related field preferred
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in behavior intervention
  • Knowledge of positive behavior support strategies and experience implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
  • Compassionate, patient, and a strong advocate for students' needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with mild to moderate disabilities
