Full-time Special Education Teacher Needed – Mt. Prospect, IL
Sunbelt is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to fill an open role within an Mt. Prospect, IL area school district. This school is looking for someone can start at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year and assist their students throughout the full year. After successful completion of the 23/24 school year, candidates will have an opportunity to return for future caseloads based on performance. Work with a school district that supports its teachers!


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education or related fields
  • Must have an active IL SPED certification (LBS1).
  • Must have IL PEL Certification
  • Previous Special Education Teaching experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to pass a Drug screen and background check.

Job specifics:

  • Full-time: 37.5hrs/wk, Monday – Friday
  • Conduct assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students to identify learning issues.
  • Assist students and teaching staff in implementing IEPs and behavior modification plans.
  • Coordinate with administrators and other staff.
  • Work with K-12 in a Self-Contained Life Skills Classrooms providing support to students who have 1:1 but various mild to moderate special education needs.
