Job Description

Position: Special Education Teacher

Location: Yakima, WA

Start Date: August 2023

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming 2023/2024 school year at a school in the Yakima, WA area. Our school district is committed to providing high-quality education to all students, including those with special needs.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
Provide direct instruction in a variety of subjects to students with disabilities
Administer and interpret assessments to determine student strengths and needs
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success
Maintain accurate records and progress reports for each student
Attend regular meetings and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Valid Washington state Special Education Teaching Certificate
Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with a team
