Job Description

Special Education Teacher job - 2023/2024 school year - Fulton, MO

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced special education teacher to join our team for the next school year in the Fulton, MO area. The preferred candidate will have a passion for working with students with special needs and be able to effectively plan, implement and evaluate specialized instruction to meet each student's unique needs.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
Plan, deliver and evaluate effective instruction and support services to ensure student success in the general education curriculum
Create and maintain a positive learning environment, which fosters academic, social and emotional growth for students with special needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to develop effective teaching strategies and to provide support for students with special needs
Provide ongoing assessment and progress monitoring of student performance
Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress
Participate in and contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives and programs

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
Valid MO teaching certificate in special education
Demonstrated expertise in working with students with special needs
Knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices and special education laws and regulations
Ability to differentiate instruction and provide accommodations and modifications to meet student needs
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
