Job Description:
As an Occupational Therapist (OT) within our school district, you will play a crucial role in promoting the development and independence of our students through specialized assessments, intervention strategies, and therapeutic services. By working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, you will create and implement individualized treatment plans that address students' unique needs and facilitate their educational progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify students' strengths and challenges related to sensory, fine motor, visual-perceptual, and self-care skills.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans and intervention strategies, utilizing evidence-based practices to meet students' individual goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services, including individual and group sessions, focusing on enhancing students' fine motor coordination, sensory integration, self-regulation, and adaptive skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other team members to ensure continuity of care and support across different educational settings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, progress reports, and treatment plans in compliance with district and state regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities to foster a collaborative and continuous learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid license or certification as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of Arizona.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy .
  • Prior experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sensory processing disorders, fine motor development, and developmental milestones.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
  • Flexibility to adapt to diverse student needs and educational environments.
