Position Summary:
As a Full-Time Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to students in the school district near Genesee, CO. You will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to assess needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver interventions to enhance students' functional abilities and overall well-being. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' functional abilities and identify areas of need.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings, collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure alignment with academic objectives.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, delivering interventions that address sensory integration, motor skills, self-care, and other relevant areas.
  • Adapt therapy techniques and activities to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to integrate therapy goals and strategies into the classroom setting.
  • Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's therapy progress and provide recommendations for home-based activities.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insights and recommendations for students' educational plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT).
  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in special education and occupational therapy.
  • Excellent assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate students' functional abilities and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with students, parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage caseloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Compassionate and patient-oriented approach to working with children and adolescents.
  • Proficiency in using technology and online tools for documentation and communication.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
