Direct District Special Education Teacher Opportunity
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they achieve academic and social-emotional success.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement IEPs:
- Assess students' skills and determine their educational needs.
- Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Regularly review and update IEPs to reflect students' progress and evolving needs.

Deliver Instruction:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' unique learning styles and abilities.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including direct instruction, cooperative learning, and technology integration.
- Modify the general education curriculum as necessary to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

Classroom Management:
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters students' social and emotional growth.
- Implement behavior management plans to support positive behavior and address challenging behaviors.
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with general education teachers to support students' inclusion in mainstream classrooms.
- Collaborate with other special education staff, school psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about students' progress and involve them in the educational process.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress.
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and make necessary adjustments.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely records, including IEP documentation and progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification: Valid CA state teaching certification in Special Education. Valid CA PPS Credential
- Experience: Previous experience teaching students with disabilities preferred.
