Job Title: Digital Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Location: California (Remote)

Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and experienced Digital Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team in providing exceptional education services to K-12 students with mild to moderate diagnoses. This remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your own home while making a positive impact on the lives of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Job Details:

  • Position: Digital Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Employment Type: Full-time, remote
  • Caseload: K-12 students with mild to moderate diagnoses
  • Duration: Academic school year (with potential for renewal)

Responsibilities: As a Digital Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction and support to students with hearing impairments through virtual platforms.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the student's IEP team.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and progress.
  • Utilize technology effectively to enhance student engagement and learning experiences.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and support to ensure student success and progress.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other members of the educational team to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of student progress and participation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf Education or Special Education in the state of California.
  • Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with virtual teaching platforms and digital instructional tools.
  • Experience in conducting assessments, developing IEPs, and implementing effective teaching strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Technological proficiency and ability to troubleshoot common technical issues.
  • Reliable internet connection and appropriate home office setup.
