Digital Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Alaska

Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Digital Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team. Job Details:

  • Position: Digital Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Responsibilities:

  • Provide virtual instruction and support to K-12 students with mild to moderate hearing impairments.
  • Design and implement individualized educational plans, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), tailored to each student's needs.
  • Utilize digital teaching tools and technology to deliver engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and educational professionals to enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Conduct assessments and monitor student progress to adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic and social growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Active state teaching certification for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Experience working with students who have mild to moderate hearing impairments.
  • Familiarity with virtual teaching platforms and technology.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and experience in developing IEPs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Passion for making a difference in the lives of students with hearing impairments.
