Job Description

Job Title: Middle School Special Education Teacher - Moderate to Severe Disabilities
Location: Lasker, North Carolina
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Middle School Special Education Teacher to join our team in Lasker, North Carolina. This position focuses on supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities in a middle school setting.
Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address students' unique needs and goals.
Adapt and modify instructional materials and methods to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive practices and accommodations.
Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support positive classroom environments.
Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance student learning and participation.
Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

Valid teaching certification in Special Education (K-12) in North Carolina.
Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities, preferably in a middle school setting.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
