Position Overview

We are actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Remote School Social Worker to join our team, providing vital social work services to students across Michigan schools from a remote setting. Key Responsibilities

  • Student Support: Deliver virtual social work services, including assessment, intervention, and counseling, to help students navigate their social and emotional challenges.
  • Collaboration with Educational Staff: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to integrate social services with educational goals.
  • Family Engagement: Establish and maintain effective communication with families, providing them with support and resources to assist their children’s development.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the planning and implementation of school-wide social work programs that address student needs and promote a positive school climate.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to student crises with appropriate interventions and support, coordinating with other professionals as necessary.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of interactions, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with state regulations and school policies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Must be licensed as a School Social Worker in Michigan or eligible for licensure.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as a school social worker, with demonstrated success in remote service delivery preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in the use of digital tools for communication and documentation, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Personal Characteristics: Empathetic, proactive, and committed to advocating for and supporting students and their families.

Work Environment
