13 week assignment

Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.

Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. Works under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor and Operations Manager, Non-Invasive Cardiac Labs & Cardiology Clinics, and the Director of the Adult Echo Lab. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*1. Performs and processes echocardiographic examinations including two-dimensional, three dimensional, M-mode, Doppler (pulsed, continuous wave, and color), and exercise techniques.

*2. Performs emergency procedures when necessary; transports equipment to patient's bedside when necessary. *

3. Assists with special procedures including stress echoes(exercise or pharmacological), transesophageal echocardiography, intraoperative echocardiography, pericardiocentesis, and contrast echocardiography. Analyzes and files echocardiographic data utilizing digital computer analysis systems. Performs a variety of patient transport activities.

Graduation from a formal training program in cardiac ultrasound or experienced Echo Tech work with at least two years prior experience required. CCI or RDCS certification required Current PA drivers license required.
