The School District outside of Jackson, MI. is now interviewing Severely Cognitively Impaired Teacher (SCI) to assist 1 building- Center-based program 10 students severely impaired. The ideal candidate need to be flexible to adjust depends on this district and student’s needs. Is required to have in hand CI endorsement and MI teaching license.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans and develops student activities in coordination with teacher assistants, Maintains all records pertaining to instructional activities, Provides a basic core program of severely cognitively impaired students, Counsels’ individuals and groups of severely cognitively impaired students with educational, occupational and personal problems, Plans curriculum, lessons, and Special Education programs and teaching methods, Evaluates student progress based on papers submitted, test scores and observation, Maintains physical environment of the classroom, Maintains contact with parents of students, Works with staff to coordinate goals and objectives, Assists the severely cognitively impaired students in making a realistic assessment of their abilities and in establishing educational and occupational goals in keeping with these abilities, Assists in screening, evaluating and recommending placements of applicants in the schools severely cognitively impaired program, Evaluates student’s progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions, Prepares report cards, reading records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other miscellaneous survey and forms.
