Islamorada, FL - Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Travel Opportunity

A school district in the Islamorada area is currently seeking an experienced Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide instruction to mild to moderately hearing-impaired students, ranging in grades from preK-12th grade. This full-time opportunity will require traveling between two schools during the week. Florida Department of Education certification is required for this opportunity.

Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Responsibilities:

  • Attend Individual Educational Plan meetings and collaborate with other service providers and parents
  • Develop and implement instructional plan based on student treatment goals
  • Plan for student’s instructional and environmental needs and necessary accommodations
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of American Sign Language, hearing aid and cochlear implants
