Elementary School Behavioral Specialist Job Opportunity – Arlington, WA

A local school district near Arlington, WA is looking to add a qualified and experienced Behavioral Specialist to their Special Education team for the current school year. Interviews are currently being scheduled with qualified candidates through Sunbelt Staffing for this position. The goal of this position is serve as a liaison with medical, mental, health, and education communities regarding each student’s needs.

Necessary Behavioral Specialist Skills:

  • Knowledge and implementation of quality classroom based instructional and assessment practice
  • Ability to motivate students and effectively communicate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
  • Creative classroom management and organizational techniques
  • Desire to facilitate growth and progress within students with unique physical, psychological and social experiences
  • Skills in establishing positive relationships with students, other service providers, as well as parents

Behavioral Job Functions:

  • Display working knowledge of special education process and essential requirements of Washington State
  • Develop and implement IEP meeting, as well as treatment goals and plans established in those meetings
  • Utilize online IEP management programs
  • Demonstrate proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Evaluate and observe students; write concise reports expounding on findings
