Beulaville, NC Full-time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Job - TDHH
A well-organized School District in the Beulaville area of North Carolina has an opening for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the school year. The hired TDHH will plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments which will help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. Prior teaching experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students is preferred.
In this role you will work with students of all ages – some ASL students, some hearing aid/cochlear implant students. Aides and Facility Staff is also available to support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs and abilities of children according to the child's present levels of academic achievement and functional performance.
- Create an environment conducive to grade level appropriate learning of students considering cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and physical abilities and limitations.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of goals and objectives in conjunction with IEP goals and objectives through the student’s present levels of academic achievement and functional performance.
- Employ a variety of scientifically research-based instructional methods, best practices and materials appropriate for meeting stated curricular and IEP goals and objectives.
Qualifications: All applicants will need a North Carolina DHH certification to qualify. Previous experience is required.
